The company also provides a unique skill in being able to source and supply niche market products including special shapes, high yield steels for the offshore industry and micro-alloy grades for hot forging/pressing such as boron steel. From its dedicated portside warehouses at Groveport on the East Coast of England the business is ideally positioned for road trailer deliveries to the UK and mainland Europe. More distant locations around the world can also be serviced through the use of 20ft and 40ft containers.

Special Steel Sections is a leading hot re-roller of special steel sections and profiles. The mill has a production capacity in excess of 10,000 tonnes per annum. By using a combination of automated production and manual hand rolling, the company has established a niche in the marketplace whereby it can produce small batches of special sizes in an extremely efficient manner. By comparison, today’s modern, fully automated, continuous rolling mills are designed for large, high volume production runs where size changing and set up time is slow, expensive and therefore, prohibitive. 70% of the company’s products are exported with the US being its biggest sales market.

Our rolling programme takes place within a 30-day cycle with our mills set up to cater for small quantities or volume runs. This provides our customers with the flexibility and reliability to react to the demanding delivery schedules their industries require.
Our in house Computer Aided Design and onsite roll turning facilities enables us to specialise in developing rolled sections specific to our customers’ applications, eliminating expensive time, labour and machining costs.
